TERMS & CONDITIONS

1.       Please ensure any item sent to Sontec is sufficiently well packaged to prevent damage during transportation.  We recommend a sturdy box and a minimum 3” of packing material packed all around the item being sent.  Sontec reserves the right to replace all packaging if deemed to be inadequate for return transport, at the customer’s cost.

2.       The Job number must always be quoted when making any repair enquiry.

3.       All repairs must be paid for (or invoiced in the case of an account holder) upon collection or before release from Sontec.

4.       Where a Customer requests the return of an item before the completion of a repair, all costs are to be paid upon collection or before despatch.
 
WARRANTY REPAIRS (Statutory Rights Not Affected)


1.     A valid proof of purchase must be supplied or a manufacturers letter of authority.  If a product has been tampered with the warranty will become void.

2.     An additional cost to cover carriage and/or packaging will apply unless covered by the manufacturer’s warranty terms.

3.     When an item is deemed to not be faulty by an engineer, the customer is liable for any charges incurred.  Manufacturers warranties do not cover the cleaning of optics, video head drums or cosmetic parts; this type of repair will be chargeable to the customer.

CHARGEABLE REPAIRS (LABOUR)

Non-Account Holders -

1.     Non-Account Holders - A non-returnable deposit must be paid by the customer before a repair can commence. This charge will be deducted from the overall invoice on the completion of the job. If the cost exceeds this deposit value an estimate for the completion of the job will be created.

        In the case of an estimate being rejected the deposit covers administration and the engineer’s investigation time.

2.       Account Holders - An estimate rejection fee of 1 hour labour, carriage (where applicable) + VAT is payable.

3.     An estimate is valid for 30 days.  If no response is received within this period, the item may be returned unrepaired.

4.     Completed units that are not collected within 3 months may be disposed of and costs recovered from their sale.  Any balance due will be subject to recovery.

5.     Carriage charges are available upon request.

NOTES

Insurance – Items are covered against “all risks” whilst on our premises and at trade value whilst in transit with our appointed carriers, this is subject to the reporting of any loss or damage within 3 days of delivery. In the case of a collection from a customer, insurance is subject to safe packaging by the sender.

Guarantee – All chargeable repairs carry a 3-month guarantee on work carried out from the date of completion.  Any rework during the guarantee period would extend the guarantee period by the rework time (not exceeding 3 months).

Payment – Accepted by cash/cheque/credit card/money order.  Dishonoured payment invalidates any guarantee on any work carried out and will be subject to legal recovery.

Rights – the company reserves the right to refuse to contract with any customer for goods or services at its discretion without reason.

The customer has the right to cancel a contract within seven calendar days starting on the day of entering into the contract. However, if work has already commenced and a decision to cancel the contract is made, in writing to the address on the Sontec (Electronics) Ltd website, you are advised that any work already carried out may be subject to a reasonable charge.

Disputes – the company will honour any decision given by the NORWICH OFFICE OF TRADING STANDARDS in the event of any dispute that falls within their terms of reference.

Data Protection - Sontec (Electronics) Ltd is collecting your personal details (including your name, address, telephone number and/or e-mail address) principally in order to process your order for services.  By providing your personal details to Sontec (Electronics) Ltd, you agree that Sontec (Electronics) Ltd may pass your details to its relevant associates or business partners (including the manufacturer (or its agent) of your product which is to be repaired by Sontec (Electronics) Ltd, principally in connection with any cost of repair warranty claim).  Please be aware that your personal data may therefore be shared with or made available to entities outside of the European Union. Where Sontec (Electronics) Ltd transfers personal data outside of the European Union, it will only do so in accordance with European data privacy laws.
